“… cowards can never be moral… “

i have always been allergic to cowards. them and hypocrites, they go hand-in-hand. abuses of power and injustices, they make my blood boil. more so when it was done by people who projected and stressed to maintain a good image of themselves in the public eye. make you wish you had some sort of superpower to put these scumbags and slimeballs back to where they belong.
folk hero and already legendary Raja Petra Kamaruddin was detained under the Seditions Act 1948 for allegedly implicating Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak and wife with the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibu in his blog, a move he saw coming from a long way since the elections result was announced. but few would have anticipated the ensuing course of action taken by RPK, that probably has gotten the authorities behind his arrest into deep reconsideration whether the move was a good idea or not. instead of quietly posting bail and waits for his trial in October, RPK stunningly refused bail in such cavalier fashion it screamed “Let’s Send The Altantuya Murderers to Hell” (the title of the post that got him in this situation) all over Malaysia and all over the world. yep, few would have missed the intention of RPK when he decided to get thrown into jail until his trial in October. and he would be smiling from his jail cell if he knew that even Reuters is breaking stories about the Altantuya trial now. “Prominent Blogger Goes to Jail for Altantuya” screamed a headline from a foreign newspaper, “Malaysian Blogger Jailed Over Article Allegedly Implicating Deputy PM In Killing” read another. Malaysian Insider got a nifty “RPK the Martyr Keeps Spotlight on Altantuya Case”, hitting it straight on the dot. the publicity gained by his news site Malaysia Today has also been phenomenal, with hits and comments doubled/tripled ever since his arrest. so you decide…. throwing the venerable RPK into jail, a good idea or not?
much has been said about Malaysian judiciary and how the current administration is going to bring reform into it, and now it has been put under direct spotlight. it was whispered that the Altantuya trial has been systematically delayed and “slowed down” until it’s far off the public radar, lessening the impact of the eventual “Not Guilty” verdict. but all of that has changed thanks to one man, and now there has never been greater spotlight on the trial and the personnel allegedly involved in it. RPK’s initial article made a huge scream, but his martyr-like actions after that has got it even louder. indeed, RPK goes to jail for Altantuya, but not only.
he goes to jail for Malaysia.

p.s… RPK smiled to reporters and said, “Do you think i don’t have evidence?” before being hauled off by the police to the Sungai Buloh prison. with the no-holds-barred-up-to-the-point-of-kurang-ajar Karpal Singh as his lead counsel (which also includes other MPs Gobind Singh, Lim Lip Eng and William Leong), it is guaranteed that all hell would break loose during the trial. owh, i can’t wait for that.
